If “reading is fundamental”, the Mrs. Applebee and the Sunshine Band series is a must-read for early learners in the 21st century! While creatively designed to enhance literacy and reading comprehension skills, the series showcases multiculturalism and diversity in ways few other children’s books do. I wish it had existed when I was a kid…it would have been one of my favorites!
